Which oil scent is the most popular and which is your favorite?
The most popular BeobeeNail Oil scent is Tea Tree & Rosehip. That one is also my favorite because of its minty, refreshing smell. My second favorite is Grapefruit because it helps calm my anxiety.

What is the difference between Gel-X and acrylic?
I will be posting a blog all about this in detail later on, but the short version is: 1) The Gel-X system has pre-shaped nails that are cured onto the natural nail with gel which 2) saves time from not needing to shape the nails. 3) Gel-X is odor free and because it’s gel based, 4) it can be removed much easier than acrylic enhancements. 5) Gel polish also adheres to Gel-X tips very well and doesn’t peel off like it does when it’s applied to acrylic nails.
-
What is the difference between Gel-X and structure gel?
Gel-X is a nail extension system where I apply pre-shaped nail tips to make your nails longer. (No fills)
Structure gel is a thicker clear or tinted gel that is applied to your natural nail to make it stronger to the touch before I apply optional colored gel polish over it. (Can get a fill every 3-4 weeks)

How long does the appointment take?
A manicure with just the base and one color will take 1.5 hours to 2 hours. A fill can take up to 2 hours. A manicure with nail art will take approximately 2 hours. More complicated designs can add an extra half hour.
-
How is everything priced after the base?
Please send me a photo of the design you would like and I can break down the pricing for you. You can then let me know which elements you would like to keep or take off from the design. I will adjust the total from there. (Example: Base = $55 + one color french tips = $20. Total = $75)

Do I have to come in every month and if I do, is there a discount?
My service and system is provided for those that come every 4 weeks because that is the approximate amount of time it takes for your nail’s apex (or stress point) to grow to a critical point. That is when I must rebalance your nail’s structure to prevent breakage. I care about your nails and encourage strong, healthy growth, and that can only happen if I can help maintain them for you on a set schedule. Your loyalty and consistency is rewarded with a waved removal fee, leaving each fill to only cost $55 instead of $65.
-
Can I take this off in 3-4 months and have perfect, healthy nails?
When going natural again, I always recommend that a top coat is still applied since the nails just came out of an enhancement. They are “weak” because they were used to having something on top of them, not because they are damaged. It requires some time for them and you to get used to the environment again, but they will need at least one week of top coat on them to get used to not having anything at all on top of them after the full removal.
-
Is this a treatment for my nails?
No, this system is not a cure to save your nails, it’s an enhancement. If you originally had weak nails, I cannot change your biology. Structured gel is just a more flexible material used to enhance your nails while still providing strength and structure, instead of using acrylic or regular nail polish. Make sense? :)
-
How long should I keep this on for if I want to grow out my natural nails?
This is a personal preference and depends on how long your nails grow over time. If you want to grow out your nails to a medium length, about 2 or 3 months is fine. But most of my clients haven’t stopped coming for almost 1 year now, they’re hooked!
-
But it looks like something on top of your nails, are those your real nails?
Yes! I do put “something” on top of your nail, that is the structured gel (or soft gel). I apply this like I am painting on a color, it’s straight out of a bottle with a brush. I don’t glue on any other plastic tips. The goal is to grow out your own nails and you will eventually have your own tips, no plastic, no acrylic!

-
Why are my nails weak after using gel or acrylic?
Any type of enhancement on nails for 2+ weeks is most likely going to make nails brittle and weak due to the dehydrating processes needed to keep the product from lifting. You always need to be careful in the first few days after a removal because your nails were lacking moisture. (This is why cuticle oil is important..) But also, most nail salons file off a LOT of the surface of the natural nail which is what causes the most damage to your nail. I don’t do that.
-
Is removal supposed to hurt?
NO!!! I know most of you may have had one or too many traumatic experiences with an e-file (or a drill), but I am fully trained to use one. My careful removal process takes anywhere from 45-60 mins to ensure that your natural nails are safe from damage. Finding a nail technician that is mindful of your well being and your nail goals is very important!
-
How are you different from a salon?
I work independently— for myself, by myself. I am different because you can trust my quality and the products I invest in. You won’t have to wonder if I will be there because I am reliable. I take responsibility for my actions and know how to take care of your needs. My priority is always to communicate clearly what my services and limits are and ensure that your needs are met. I am not afraid to say no, or work out a compromise over an open conversation. I am passionate about my work and take great care in every nail that I paint. I am well trained in many aspects of this industry and am continuously learning with an open mind.
-
Are nail drills supposed to burn or cut me?
NO!!! (You knew the answer to that!) Come to me, all who are HURT. Please, you should not be serviced in this way. It was and is never your fault that you were injured at someone’s place of business. A properly trained nail technician will know how many RPMs (rotations per minute) and what pressure should be applied to your nail when using an e-file. Which kind of bit (the head attached at the end) the technician is using is also very important to your nail health! This is not a normal thing to happen every time.

Do UV/LED lamps cause cancer?
I use a lamp with LED lights instead of UV lights. The difference is in the amount of time it takes to cure (or dry) the polish. UV takes up to 2 mins and LED only takes 30 seconds. While UV can be slightly more harmful in the long run, it is less exposure time than LED lamps. Both lamps transmit UVA rays, but this small amount of exposure has an extremely low risk of leading to skin cancer. I would imagine that walking out in the sun for half a day and realizing you forgot to wear sunscreen would do worse damage when compared to getting your nails done. You can choose to wear SPF 40 sunscreen on your hands about 20 mins before your appointment if you’d like to stay in the cautious side, just please, DO NOT apply it to your fingertips and around the nail area to avoid oily surfaces.
